Lip Synching Exercise 1 and 2 (Research and Planning)

I decided to practice lip-synching as this will be essential to my videos' continuity. I also wanted to show my method for lip-synching. My method for practicing effective lip-synching, I literally sing. So, I hope your ears can cope for four minutes, because this is my practice.

This is the second practice with Paige Wellstead:

I also wanted to include a video on the importance of Lip-Synching itself. Here's the link

Raw Images for Album Artwork (Research and Planning)

Here are four still images of the main images in my digipack. These are raw and unedited. Then you can see what I actually did editing wise to my images.

Single Front Covers (Research and Planning)

When analysing work from pop and rock artists, I noticed that some artists have released single editions of the most famous songs on their respective albums. Here is an example from the pop genre, with "We Are Young" from "Fun." from the album.

Here is another example from "Sleeping With Sirens" with the single "Do It Now Remember It Later", from the album "Let's Cheer To This".

Album Cover

I decided to make a single CD Cover in these styles. I understood, however, that I need to keep the same stylistic features of my album cover. This is my completed version of my single. I tried to replicate the single style of Fire Bomb, using motifs from the fire bomb music video. It also links in with the album "Spent Inspirations" as the letter motif is also featured within the digipack.

Music Video Reconstruction (Research and Planning)

In my initial planning stage, I partially reconstructed two music videos. However, I ran into problems when my music files ended up corrupting and I realised I could not add music to my video. So, I ended up discarding the footage. However, I recently found it and I thought that I would add it to the blog anyway. I apologise in advance for the lack of sound. Here is my reconstruction video:

Completed Digipack!

My Digipack is done! Yay! Here is my completed pack.

I thought it would be beneficial to my research to interview so impartial parties on my digipack itself, I wanted to see what they thought on my digipack in it's final stage. Here are my findings:

Posters! (Research and Planning)

These are the posters that will appear before the release date of my album. This poster is the main poster (therefore, the one I want marked).

This is the poster I wish to be marked on

These are the additional posters that will appear before the album release, and after the album release.

Before Album Release

I thought it would be beneficial to include the template designs for my posters (a.k.a the initial plan design for my posters). Here they are:

Interview for Homophobia and Interviewing the Talent of Melton (Research and Planning)

I realised that my music video could seem quite contraversial regarding my theme. So, in order to assertain how far I can go or to which extent I can use my theme. I also wanted to see whether there are any stereotypes in the media around homosexuality. So, I interviewed two polar opposites. I interviewd one gay man and one straight woman and asked them the same questions. For further information, please see the video that I have created.

Also, I thought it would be beneficial to research the gay stereotypes in the media today. Here is a presentation discussing my research:

To get the perspective of popular music from the new talent of today; I wanted to see what they considered of popular music videos today and to see what they would add into their music videos. So, I interviewed a new talented member of my community: Sian Horton, a singer/instrumentalist/songwriter and Matthew Bloomfield. Here is the film I made discussing their opinions:

Key Frames from Music Videos that I may Adapt (Research and Planning)

Here are some frames that I may insert into my video (obviously with editing). I have chosen 4 frames from pop videos and 4 frames from rock music videos.

Here are the pop frames:

Frame 1 is from the music video "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush. This frame shows her as dominant and gives the artist a lot of focus-this is effective for my video.

Frame 2 is from the music video "Hot Right Now" by Rita Ora. This Close-Up shows the iconic nature of the artists shoes, which focuses on the fashionable nature of this popular artist.

Frame 3 is from the music video "Firework" by Katy Perry. This long shot shows the isolation of the artist, which is the feel I would like to re-create within my music video.

Frame 4 is from the music video "Winter" by Tori Amos. This high-angled shot shows the talent of the artist. I would also like to re-create this in my music video.

Frame 1 is from the music video "Behind These Hazel Eyes" by Kelly Clarkson. This high-angle is interesting as it creates the feel of the artist being "watched". This would be a feature I would like to re-create in the video.

Frame 2 is from the music video "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls. This medium shot also focuses on the artist and creates the sense of isolation. This is a feature which I have already stated I would like to re-create in my music video.

Frame 3 is from the music video "Beat it" by Fall Out Boy. This upward angle shows the artists dominance, which is positive for my music video.

Frame 4 is from the music video "Helena" by My Chemical Romance. This focus on feet again shows the talent of the performer in the video. I would like to do this in the dance sections of my music video.

Collaberation with Rihanna and her record label (Research and Planning

Throughout my work, I have collaberated with the record company who have the rights to Rihanna's music. I have informed them of any changes that I have made to my plans. I have done nothing without the records' approval.  I ensured I linked relevant presentations. Here is proof of one of the emails I have sent to the company. I have blocked out information about the companies' address to affirm confidentiality:

Social Media Association (Research and Planning)

Throughout the creation of my blog, I have linked my blog to a social media website, Facebook. Here is just some evidence of the reception my blog has recieved.

Audience/Listener Profile (Research and Planning)

I wanted to create a profile for the kind of audience who would listen to Rihanna. There will be some elements popular music to the listener, and some elements of rock music to the listener. I did this in the form of a profiled mood board. Here is the moodboard in question.

Model Report Forms (Research and Planning)

In my production, I wanted to keep track of who I used as actors/models. I decided to use a medium that had been used before in other media productions. I used model release forms to keep track of all the people I used in my video. My model release form for this project looks like this:

Scripting For My Music Video-Lyrical Action (Research And Planning)

Heya! I just thought that you would like to see what actions would be involved in my media video. I thought I'd do this so you could get a rough idea of what my storyboard/video would look like. Without further ado, here are the lyrics with added action

Instrumental-Roughly 2o seconds long

Yeahh Ohhh
Gunfire left a hole in the tank, losing gasoline
Fire is on my trail and he's after me
Hope it don't get here before I get where I'm going I gotta get where I'm going
Take off my mask to breathe

You could've been a part of a masterpiece
Fluid in the brakes was the last to leak
That's the thing
Where im going I don't need my brakes,

Can't wait to see your face,
When your front windows break,
and I come crashing through

The lovers need to clear the road

Oh oh
Because this thing is ready to blow
Oh oh

I just wanna set you on fire
So I won't have to burn aloneThen you

Then you'll know where I'm coming from
Fire bomb...

Fire bomb

Instrumental-4/8 seconds

Seems cold but baby no it doesn't have to be,
Microwaving a metal tragedy

Watching it burning, it's beautiful and it's blue
and it's pitiful and it's blue, it's the other half of me
I didn't do it you lit the match for me,
Now we're flying from the blast baby,
Thats the thing.
Where we're going we don't need no brakes,

Can't wait to see your face,
when your front windows break,
and I come crashing through.
The lovers need to clear the road
Oh oh,
Because this thing is ready to blow
Oh oh,

I just wanna set you on fire
So I won't have to burn alone

Then you
Then you'll know where I'm coming from
Fire bomb...
Fire bomb

Baby we were killin' em,They couldn't handle the millionth degree
We were criminals,
Hey
As we were burning, the world called the police
Fire department, ambulance
You can call me crazy 'cause I believe
The only move for me and you
Is to go out blazing

The lovers need to clear the road
Oh, oh, oh
Cause this thing is ready to blow
Oh, oh, oh

I just wanna set you on fire
So I won't have to burn alone

Then you
Then you'll know where I'm coming from
Fire bomb
Oh oh
Fire bomb

Instrumental-9 Seconds

I also thought that I'd show you the intended scripting for my music video, A.K.A who is saying what:

Also, here is my independant evaluation of the lyrics of "Fire Bomb":

Experimental Shots (Research and Planning)

I thought that it would be a good idea to experiment with different angles and shots so I could see which angles would be best to use. After a lot of deliberation, I thought these shots were very effective, and will most definately be used in my video:

Long-Shot

Medium-Shot

Wide-Shot

Long-Shot (do you see him?)

Low-Angled Shot/Upward Angled Shot

Storyboard (Research And Planning)

Here is the storyboard for my music video. I thought it would be an interesting idea to show you the action, shot, angles and estimated time frame that these shots will continue for. Enjoy! I will soon be uploading an animated version of the storyboard. Because it will look nicer that way :)

Costume, Prop and Make-up videos :) (Research and Planning)

I decided to make a video about my characters costume etc. I encorporated these elements together as I believe they are very closely related. I also wanted to introduce all of my actors, and I thought this would be an appropriate way to do this. Here's the link to the video, enjoy!

My props video is actually seperate to this video. Here is the video for my props:

Well, this is awkward...

Oh dear Lord...so little posts...I had food poisoning for a little while, so that's why the blog has been a little boring. I just wanted to let you know my Digipack is finished. Finioto. Complete! Digipack-Stage 1 complete

I wanted to just show you my progression. I have decided to plan my CD laylout ( in the style of My Chemical Romances' fourth album "Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys". This pop-punk album is good for my CD layout because the colour scheme is minimalist and effective. However, the digipack will differ on colour scheme and motif development as I want my product to appear darker. Here is a slideshow I have prepared concerning the digipack of said album

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJszf7HxM6U&feature=youtu.be

CD front cover is nearly finished. I just need to resize the image for a CD cover and add an explicit advisory on there :) However, I have done the inside title page and the free anti-piracy sticker that would come with the CD. Here are the finished products.

Different Types of Dialogue (Researching and Planning)

Bombarding you with presentations isn't fun for me either :/ I promise more interesting delights will be up on the blog soon. I mentionned in my scripting videos that some of the characters will have dialogue. So I thought it might be useful to include a presentation I made on dialogue:
